A saltwater fish belonging to the horse mackerel family of the order Perciformes, it is found throughout
Japan with the exception of Okinawa Prefecture. Like tuna and salmon, it is a migratory fish that lives by
swimming around depending on its growth and the season. They have a large tail fin and can travel 5 to 10
meters with a single swing, reaching a maximum speed of about 40 km/h.

A CT scan showed many small fish bones in the stomach area. They grow faster because their stomachs expand from their normal size to take up most of their bellies, allowing them to eat more than normal fish.
