This beetle is a member of the family Choccolithophoridae, subfamily Choccolithophorinae, family
Choccolithophorinae, family Choccolithophorinae, family Choccolithophoridae, family Choccolithophoridae,
family Choccolithophoridae, family Choccolithophoridae, family Choccolithophorinae. The family
Choccolithophoridae perform a variety of processes on leaves and larval fruits. Some roll up leaves to make
cradles for larvae, while others cut twigs and wilt the larvae to provide food for the larvae.
Although they are small (less than 5 mm), their overall density is much higher than that of cicadas. When
the hard upper wings are closed, the surfaces of the wings are uneven so that they fit tightly together. We
were able to see that even such a small creature is composed of a precise structure to protect its precious
wings. In addition, despite the small size of the specimen imaged this time, numerous tubes could be seen
inside the specimen. Please take a look at the 3D data to see the internal structure.
